I do not know anything about the module obtainable on GitHub or the plugin, also obtainable on GitHub. This module and plugin are not part of Joomla 4.4.2.
You wrote that this is a new installation of Joomla 4.4.2. Fair enough. If it is a new installation of Joomla 4.4.2, I presume you mean that you created a new website (that never existed before) with an empty database, that had never been used before. If that is not the case, please explain what you mean by a new installation of Joomla 4.4.2.
The plugin and module you refer to are not part of Joomla (any version). There is a possible explanation why your website is telling you that there are updates available and that is because you have re-used a database (i.e. a set of database tables) from a website where you installed that plugin and that module. That is one possible explanation.
When you wrote "IT was installed with a download from Joomla.org", what exactly are we talking about? What is "it"? Is "it" the module (and the plugin)? Is that what you mean? Or does "it" mean something else?
The answer to your question hinges on the history of your new installation of Joomla 4.4.2, how you created it and what file system and database tables you used to create it. If you can fill in the missing information then it may be possible to explain why your seeing these unexplained references to a plugin and a module that no-one seems to know anything about.
